No soy de aquí, ni soy de allá, la famosa canción de Facundo Cabral, cantautor de origen argentino. La historia cuenta que improvisó la canción durante uno de sus conciertos. Otra versión famosa es de Jorge Carfune. Nuestra versión da homenaje a estos grandes artistas del folklore argentino. Como fue improvisada en su estreno, queríamos darle el mismo carácter, sin planear mucho nuestra versión, sino fluir con el momento y a ver adónde llegamos. La música Argentina está llena de músicos maravillosos, del tamaño de Mercedes Sosa, y muchos más, a quien me encanta rendir homenaje con la guitarra española, guitara flamenca, y voz. Otras versiones muy bonitas de No Soy de aquí, ni soy de allá, son de Chavela Vargas, Alberto Cortez, y más. Since it was improvised in its premiere, we wanted to give it the same character, without planning much for our version, but instead, flowing with the moment and see where the words and melody take us. Argentinian music is full of wonderful musicians, such as Mercedes Sosa, and many more, whom I love to pay tribute to with the Spanish guitar, flamenco guitar, and voice. Nuestro repertorio varía entre los clásicos de swing de los años 30, estándares de jazz y temas de jazz manouche. Creamos un contacto cercano y divertido con el público, a la vez que el ambiente es animado gracias al repertorio bailable y alegre. Nos encontramos en la Estación, unos recién llegados y otros preparados para irse. Todos venimos de diferentes lugares, lo que nos une es la mirada hacia el Este, y hacia el horizonte, y pasión por la música de los países imaginarios, tiempos olvidados y tierras lejanas. Compartiremos estos momentos de tránsito y será la fiesta de bienvenida y de despedida, hasta el amanecer, en la Estación del Este. _____________________________________________ A world music project, East-European, Middle-Eastern, mediterranean music, klezmer, as well as South American music, music of nomads, emigrants, travellers from the beginning of the 20th century. We met at the station , some have just arrived, and others are about to leave. Each coming from a different place, and the thing we have in common is that look towards the east, and a passion for the music of imaginary countries, forgotten times and faraway worlds. We'll share those moments of transit and it'll be a feast until the dawn, at the East Station.
